Say Hello to spring with a floral rug

As regular readers of FrithRugs blog posts will know, a well-chosen rug is the perfect anchor for your interior design scheme.

As Spring has now officially arrived, our rug interior experts want to shout about the benefits of bringing flowers indoors and celebrating the fabulously floral.

Now we understand that using florals can be a bit scary but our tips about how to use floral rugs in your interior design scheme should allay any apprehension you may have.
A floral rug will be the focus of your room and it’s nice to celebrate the arrival of a new season with something that reflects the environment outside.   A floral rug, depending on which pattern and colourway you choose, can work well in both a modern and traditional setting and so let’s take a look at the floral rugs FrithRugs can offer.
Don’t play it safe

If you look at any striking interiors online you will find that the look is achieved by NOT playing it safe.  For those of you who are happy to make a bold statement, have the confidence to be innovative with patterns.  You can clash florals – for example, a floral rug, floral curtains and floral cushions.  However, for this to work, keep your furniture neutral – so your sofa and chairs chairs should be in one colour block.
Modern floral

Getting the right style at home comes with experience but our tip is to paint your walls and ceiling a crisp white and then select a floral rug.  You can highlight the colour of the rug in accessories such as lamps or artwork.  You will be amazed at how this will give your room a cool, contemporary feel.
Shabby chic or country cottage
If you select a floral rug with small rather than large flowers, you can achieve a shabby chic or country cottage mood.  Small florals will work well on hard wood flooring and in a room that has natural wood furniture and pared down accessories.  Choose a pale colour from your rug flower and use it as the accent shade for your other pieces.
There are no real hard and fast rules when it comes to using florals.  Like all interior design styles, it really comes down to personal choice.  However, when looking for that perfect floral rug to bring the outside in, you will find a great selection at www.frithrugs.co.uk, including exclusive designs that you won’t find anywhere else.  From big, bold blooms to more delicate flowers, say hello to the spring/summer 2019 interior season with flowers.

Autumn florals

Autumn has to be one of our favourite times of year and thanks to FrithRugs range of autumnal floral rugs you can enjoy the season indoors as well as outside.

We have a superb range of floral rugs from the big, bold blooms found in the Nourison Tropics range to the smaller, most abstract designs found in our Ella Claire collections which are exclusive to FrithRugs.

Blooming Big!

If you want to be bold then the large, dark and dramatic prints found in the Tropics collection are for you.  These rugs are really fashionable as intense and exciting interiors feature quite heavily in this season's design trends.

To complement the look try using velvet in your other accessories - curtains, cushions and throws - but keep any other floral accessory to a minimum and let the rug do the talking.  These rugs will also suit larger rooms as they could dominate a smaller space.

The great thing about big and bold is that it doesn't feel to girlie and can be as masculine as you want it to be and if you get the look right, the room will have a modern art feel.

Contemporary Florals

We think this rug taken from our Ella Claire Indian Rug Collection, which is exclusive to FrithRugs, really suits the season.  The shades of burnt orange and green make it easy to find other accessories to complement the rug and these warm earthy tones are ideal to ensure your room feels lovely and cosy.

www.frithrugs.co.uk offers a wide range of floral rug designs featuring modern and classical interpretations.  The general rule with a floral rug is to keep the rest of your room pared-back as florals can sometimes be overwhelming.  Rather than use other florals, pick a shade of colour from the rug and use that to bring your interior design theme together.

For example in the tropics rug here, find pillows or cushions in a similar pale blue - they can have pattern providing you have lots of white/cream background to it.

Flowers for mum all year round

Flowers for mum all year round!

Most mums, grandmothers, aunties and sisters appreciate a floral tribute on Mothers Day – so why not invest in floral tribute that will last.

You want to make a statement with your floral display, then a big, bold, botanical print is for you.  These modern floral rugs will take centre stage and so any other floral accessories you want to introduce should take more of a supporting role to these bright floral rug blooms.

If you prefer more of an English country garden style with something subtler we recommend a smaller floral print which would sit really well in a traditional home.  Made from 100% wool and available in several colour ways these smaller more delicate flowers conjure up images of thatched roofs and roses around the door. These smaller designs mean you could afford to introduce similar floral patterns on other soft furnishings and wallpaper.

Or how about a Chinese garden?  Our Chinese floral rugs sit well within both a modern and period design scheme and if you enjoy relaxing in an Oriental style garden, you can create the same tranquil look inside using one of these designs which are available in large area rug sizes.

Our floral rugs provide the inspiration needed to help to blur the boundary between house and garden. And if your Mum loves flowers, these are bouquets that will stand the test of time.
