Fireworks at home

Our exclusive Vibrance collection

Even if you are not setting off your own fireworks or attending an official event, you can usually enjoy all the colours of somebody else's firework in the night sky - but we've got some fabulous colourful rugs for those people who appreciate dazzling design and an explosion of colour.

Our Vibrance collection is the place to start your search for some colour.  As the name suggests, it features contemporary rugs in vibrant colours. Available in numerous sizes and made from 100% wool, you won't find these rugs anywhere else - as they are exclusive to FrithRugs.  If you are looking for a statement rug - take at look at the full range.

Or, check out another exclusive range, the Ella Claire Exclusive collection.  This offers beautiful handmade rugs that use the finest wool with touches of viscose to enhance the colour and design. The smooth, plush pile is a joy to walk on as well as being a treat for the senses.

These rugs really do turn up the heat and bring a warm glow to your autumn/winter decor.  The bright pops of colour are just what you want to cheer up a dark, dreary winter night - just because it's miserable outside, it doesn't have to feel that way inside.

When you have such a wow accessory in any room, you should ensure that other pieces are more subtle.  However, the great thing about having a colourful rug is that you can take one or two colours from the rug to co-ordinate.  In the example above, you're spoilt for choice - mustard, red, blue, orange - a few cushions in the shame colours and perhaps a couple of ornaments in the same colours and you're done.

Have a safe and enjoyable Bonfire Night everyone.

We're all going grey!

When it comes to interior design, grey is the new white – and here we explain why grey is so popular for homeowners.

Interior designers and us mere mortals are catching on to the fact that grey can work across many design schemes.  It can be contemporary and cool, it can be soothing and relaxing and it can be lively and energetic – it all depends on the shade of grey you choose for your room.

If you like modern then opt for darker shades that add a hint of drama, if your style is more vintage or classic, blue greys will work well and if you want your room to feel relaxed mid tone greys will create the mood.

If you are using grey on the wall or on one wall - as ever - getting the right accessories is key.  As its getting cooler, texture is important to help create a warm and cozy space.  Don’t be afraid to mix and match – so faux fur cushions, velvet throws and a sheepskin rug, like the one shown will mean you never want to leave the house.

If your walls are plain, then add pattern with accessories.  Something from our Machine woven natural collection would add interest on the floor, like this middle rug, while patterned cushions and curtains would make the whole room come to life.

Grey also works with bold primary colours too.  Place a large grey rug on the floor and add a pop of colour with mustard and orange cushions, an orange lamp and a piece of art featuring the same shades.   Go to our exclusive Ella Claire ‘Naturals’ Collection to find luxurious deep pile grey rugs that will add warmth and subtlety.

If you like a classic style, how about this traditional grey rug from our Bokhara collection.  We think this works well with cream and very pale grey walls and silver grey curtains.  Set the rug on a hard wood floor and keep grey accessories to a minimum so that you let the rug do the talking.

Grey has become so popular with our customers that we have introduced several collections featuring stripes, patterns and plain grey rugs in a variety of tones and shades.  If you’re looking for home accessories in this must have colour, search our grey rugs online.

Our Floor Painting Rugs are a work of art for the floor

Sometimes we describe our rugs as paintings for the floor. We use this term when we think the design and quality of the rug is quite simply a work of art - and that's why we have a collection called Floor Paintings.

These rugs are exclusive to FrithRugs and part of our Ella Claire portfolio. You can't find these anywhere but here and this collection has proved so popular that we have introduced more designs.

It's no wonder these gorgeous rugs are proving so popular. They feature bold patterns to ensure that all eyes are drawn to the floor and they boast outstanding quality which means they feel as good as they look.

That's because these rugs are handknotted in India and thanks to the addition of 20% silk to the 80% wool they really are a statement rug for the discerning purchaser.

The original rugs in the collection use bold colour and design and work well in a contemporary setting - while the latest rugs to join this exclusive club ofter a softer and subtler colour palette which means they sit nicely in both a modern and traditional room.

Browse the collection online here - but if you are near one of our stores, pop in to feel and experience these Ella Claire Floor Paintings for yourself.
